Dr Lee Jones is a primary care skin cancer clinician with expertise in the diagnosis and management of melanoma and other skin cancers.

​

Dr Jones studied both a Bachelor of Science and Bachelors of Medicine & Surgery at the University of Queensland. After Graduation he relocated to Cairns for residency.

​

Before teaming up to form Northern Skin Doctors in 2019, he has worked throughout Cairns and is well known in the northern suburbs. He has extensive  education in skin cancer medicine and has completed the Bond University Certified Professional Diploma of Skin Cancer Medicine and Professional Diploma of Dermoscopy (skin diagnosis). 

​

Dr Jones has proudly been awarded with Fellowship of the Skin Cancer Institute. 

A global organisation dedicated to reducing unnecessary deaths from skin cancer.

​

He also continues to be passionate about all dermatology and recently spent a year working in the Cairns Hospital Dermatology Department. 

​

When not striving to keep his patients happy and healthy, he enjoys fishing, playing golf, watching sport and enjoying the beaches of Cairns with his young family.

​

DR BEN IRELAND

Dr Ben Ireland is a GP with expertise in the diagnosis and management of skin cancer and is an Accredited Skin Cancer Doctor through the Skin Cancer College of Australasia.


Dr Ireland studied Medicine and Surgery at Griffith University. After Graduation he then relocated to Cairns working in the Cairns Hospital, where he developed an interest in skin. Dr Ireland completed general practice training in the Cairns region.

 

He then completed his Advanced Certificate of Dermoscopy and Advanced Certificate Skin Cancer Medicine and Surgery through the Skin Cancer College Australasia.


Dr Ireland is also passionate about medical education. He is a Lecturer and Clinical Tutor with the James Cook University Medical School and an active supervisor of General Practice Registrars.


When not at work Dr Ireland can be seen out on the reef with a fishing rod in his hand. He also enjoys playing golf, swimming and enjoying time with his children. Dr Ireland is also a Rugby League tragic supporting the Parramatta Eels.

DR LUKE DORNAN

Dr Luke Dornan has a special interest in the diagnosis and management of skin cancer.

 

Dr Dornan completed a bachelor of medicine and surgery at James Cook University in Townsville.

 

After graduation he worked at the Cairns hospital and Toowoomba Hospital where he underwent additional training in surgery as an advanced skill. He has completed Advanced certificates in both skin cancer surgery as well as holding the Professional Diploma Of Dermoscopy (skin cancer diagnostics)

​

He is also currently employed at the Cairns Hospital in the Surgical Department as  the GP with Special Interest in Surgery and is a member of the Skin Cancer College of Australasia. When not working, Dr Dornan enjoys spending time with his young family, social running and the practice of Historical European Martial Arts

DR JULIZA JAHIMIN 
MBChB FRACGP

Dr Juliza was born in Malaysia and completed her medical training in Scotland. She spent four years in Far North Queensland working in Cairns, Atherton, Mareeba and Tully Hospitals. She is a well known GP in Yorkeys and now joins us at Northern Skin Doctors.


Juliza has an interest in preventative health, skin cancer medicine and aesthetics. In her spare time, she likes to go for walks, venture into new crafts and listen to podcasts.

DR KATE MURRAY

Dr Kate Murray is a GP with interests in preventative health care, teaching and skin cancer management.

 

Dr Murray studied at the Australian National University in Canberra and did her Hospital and GP training in Melbourne. She moved to the Cairns region in 2020 and works as a General Practitioner and Senior Lecturer of JCU Medical Students.

 

When not at work Dr Murray enjoys hiking the many trails in FNQ, taking her dog to the beach and snowboarding.

Cairns Skin Clinic

Dr. Win Thu Hein is a general practitioner with special interest in skin cancer medicine and surgery. Originally from Myanmar (Burma) and migrated to Australia in 2010 and had worked in various hospitals around Australia. 


Dr. Hein is a fellow of Royal Australian College of General Practice since 2018.
Dr. Hein started skin cancer work since 2016.

​

Since then, he has been up skilling in skin cancer medicine and attending various conferences and workshops. 


Dr.Hein has completed advanced certificate in skin cancer surgery and advanced certificate in dermoscopy provided by Skin Cancer College Australasia, SCCA
(peak skin cancer training organisation in Australia).

 

Dr. Hein also holds Professional and Advanced Certificate in Skin Cancer Surgery by Healthcert. He finished the membership diploma in general dermatology by Australian Institute of dermatology. 

Dr. Hein is currently working towards the fellowship of SCCA
and involving in teaching young doctors in skin cancers diagnosis as a tutor at
SCCA.
Dr. Hein provides comprehensive skin cancer check/ diagnoses, non surgical managements and when indicated, 
Dr. Hein can perform skin flap and graft repairs.

​

Health (DCH), Certificate in Emergency Medicine (EMC), Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (DTM&H)
Dr. Hein is motivated and passionate about ongoing education to improve in skin
cancer diagnosis and all aspects of skin cancer management.

DR JACK FOURIE
MBBS FRACGP 

Dr. Jack Fourie is a General Practitioner with a special interest in skin cancer detection, prevention, and treatment.

​

He has lived in Cairns since relocating from the NT to complete high school.

Dr Fourie completed his medical training at James Cook University, and completed his GP fellowship training in Cairns.

 

He has furthered his knowledge in skin cancer treatment by obtaining a Certificate of Dermoscopy through the Skin Cancer College Australia, and is working for further qualifications in this field.

​

Outside of work, Dr. Fourie enjoys exploring the outdoors, spending his free time fishing, boating, camping, and hiking.

​

Dr Paul Savage has previously been working in many of the hospitals around Sydney, and has studied for his Master of Public Health. He has special interests in preventative health, mental health, and skin cancer medicine. He aims to bring these skills and interests to the people of Cairns to provide holistic, patient-centred care.

​

He is a Skin Cancer Doctor and runs Green Health @ Yorkeys.

Dr Claudia Cambon is in her final year as a GP registrar with a keen interest in skin cancer medicine. She grew up on the Gold Coast where she studied at Griffith University. She later moved to the Sunshine Coast where she completed her studies in 2020 and stayed to work in the hospital.

​

She is interested in all aspects of general practice in particular skin cancer medicine where she is specialising in.

​

She has completed multiple dermoscopy courses and an advanced skin cancer course with the view to continue to up skill in all aspects of skin cancer medicine.

DR ROWAN GIBBS

Dr Row, who is originally from Newcastle, has called Cairns home for much of the past two decades. Before embarking on a career in rural generalist medicine, Dr Row was a commercial fisherman, consultant to the Australian Fisheries Management Authority, photographer and snake handler.

​

“After fishing, I worked as a consultant and observer for state and federal fisheries for a little while and did some work in remote communities in the Cape and the Gulf,” says Dr Gibbs. “I’ve got a bit of a soft spot for underserviced communities.”

​

Life in those remote communities inspired his decision to study medicine.

​

Dr Row has an interest in skin cancer medicine and lifestyle medicine with the goal of running outreach clinics for rural and remote patients in the future.
